Impression after watching “Looking For Dad”
In my opinion, this movie is presented from a very objective point of view, and Charlie depicts what kind of person his father is through the narratives of his father's friends and colleagues. Because Charlie's impression of his father is missing, if Charlie's subjective thoughts were used to describe the film, I feel that there would be a critique of the father in the middle. That helped me a lot with the movie. I also needed to describe the father from an objective point of view. I wanted to find the answer through this film, not just make a film to criticize what my father had done. That's why an objective description is also very important. Here my mother's account can be used to present what my father was like. A subjective description of the idea of why he wanted to make this movie and an objective description to present the facts.
Secondly, I think Charlie's main idea in making this movie is to let go of his past self. In fact, before making this movie, Charlie was not sure whether his father loved them or not, so his father's image was always missing in his heart. Personally, I think Charlie also blames his father. And after a series of inquiries, they learn that their father loves them very much, and that although their mother sometimes makes decisions for them and prevents their father from seeing them, he has never abandoned them. Their father had always wanted to take them to live with them in their home in the United States, and their father wanted to be with them very much. In the end Charlie said his final goodbye to his father by scattering his father's ashes in every place where he had been. He also said that even though his father wasn't in his life much, he was thankful that he always loved the brothers. Also Charlie forgave his mother at the end of the video. Although her mother made some decisions for them, her love for the two Charlie brothers is something that no one can replace. The departure of their father is sad, but Charlie chooses to move on because his life goes on. Ultimately through this movie, Charlie forgives his father for leaving and some of his mother's decisions, as well as unraveling the lack of a father's love. He will move forward with hope because he knows that he has been given more love than he originally thought, and with that love, Charlie is going to live the rest of his life to the fullest.

其次我认为Charlie拍这个片子的主要思想是释怀，和过去的自己释怀。其实在制作这个影片之前Charlie也不太确定父亲到底爱不爱他们，所以在他心里父亲的形象一直是缺失的。我个人觉得Charlie也会埋怨自己的父亲。而在一系列的询问后，他们知道了父亲非常爱他们，虽然母亲有时会帮他们做一些决定，不让父亲和他们相见，但父亲从来没有抛弃他们。父亲一直想带他们去美国的家去生活，父亲非常想和他们在一起。最后Charlie把父亲的骨灰撒在了每一个父亲待过的地方，和父亲做了最后的道别。他也说了虽然父亲没怎么出现在自己的生命里，但很感谢父亲一直爱他们兄弟俩。同时Charlie也在视频的最后原谅了母亲。虽然母亲替他们做了一些决定，但母亲对Charlie兄弟俩的爱是没人能替代的。父亲的离开是悲伤的，但Charlie选择向前看，因为他的人生还得继续。最终通过这个影片，Charlie原谅了父亲的离开，也原谅了母亲的一些决定，同时也解开了缺少父爱的心结。他会带着希望向前看，因为他知道他所获得的爱比他原本想像的要多得多，带着这份爱，Charlie要把他余下的人生活出精彩。
