Impression after watching“人生第二次?缺丨一轮对命运说不的逆风长跑”

 


Here are some notes I took


    The protagonists of this movie are a group of children from divorced families. They grow up under the care of their father, Mr. Baijian(Homestay Parent) created a place called "Dream House" for them, which brings warmth and hope to these children who live in darkness.

    The film employs a number of visual narrative techniques. With the use of composition, color matching, empty shots, long shots and other video narrative techniques, without violating the principle of authenticity, the subject of the film can be sublimated, bringing the audience visual and spiritual experience. Unlike traditional documentaries, which are mainly based on visual records, this movie uses storytelling techniques to narrate. This brings a lot of points of view. It is like a movie in its entirety, incorporating the story's emergence, growth, climax, ending and conflict without compromising the realism of the documentary. 


    For example, after the birth of his son(Mr. Baijian's son), the film uses a lot of empty shots and close-ups and combines them with the contemporaneous voices of Mr. Baijian to present the question of whether he should stay with his own family or continue to take care of the left-behind children.

Instead of recording in real time, the movie uses storytelling to portray the characters' inner conflicts and entanglements. In the end, when Mr. Baijian chooses to stay in the "Dream Home" to take care of the left-behind children, the children's tears bring the drama to a climax, and reflect the characterization of Mr. Baijian's love love for the children and his seriousness and responsibility. 

The overall presentation of the movie is just like a narrative movie, introducing stories that can move the audience in daily life into the documentary can be a good way to arouse the audience's consensus.

    Based on this movie, I think it is feasible to add storytelling into humanistic documentaries, but it must come from life, eliminating all fabrications and falsehoods. It is the epitome of real people and things, using the narrative technique to show the epitome of life in front of the audience, to understand and feel the actual emotions within the documentary, so as to cause deep thought.
Boarding Parents

本片的主角是一群原生家庭不幸的小孩。他们在柏剑爸爸的照顾下茁壮成长。柏剑爸爸为他们创造了一个叫做“梦想之家”的地方,给这些生活在黑暗中的孩子带来了温暖的希望。

这个片子采用了很多影像的叙事手法。构图、色彩搭配、空镜头、长镜头等影像叙事手法,在不违背真实性原则基础上,将本片的主体得以升华,带给受众视觉及心灵的体会区别于传统的纪录片,主要以影像记录为主,这个影片运用讲故事的手法叙事。这就带来了很多看点。它整体就像电影一样,将故事的产生、成长、高潮、结局和冲突都融入进了影片里,而且不会影响纪录片的真实感。举个例子,在柏剑爸爸的儿子出生后,对于是留在他自己的家庭还是继续照顾那些留守儿童的问题上,影片采用了很多空镜头和特写并结合柏剑爸爸的同期声来呈现。这里并没有采取实时记录,而是通过故事叙述的方法来刻画人物内心的冲突和纠结。在最后柏剑爸爸选择继续留在“梦想之家”照顾那些留守儿童的时候,那些孩子的泪水更将剧情推向了高潮,也反映出柏剑爸爸热爱孩子,认真负责的人物形象。影片整体的呈现手法就和叙事电影一样,把日常生活中能感动受众的故事引入纪录片中,可以很好的引起受众共识。

根据这个影片,我认为把故事化的叙事方式加入到人文纪录片中是可行的,但一定要源于生活,杜绝一切造作,一切虚假。它就是实在的人和事的缩影,运用叙事的手法将生活中的缩影展现在观众面前,领会与感悟纪录片内的实际情感,从而引起深思。
