Overlook my project
(Notes was written on 10. 13. 2023)
- Personal story (early childhood, young adulthood) + talking to mother + communication with father + reaction to getting answers(Switch from personal narrative to documentray)
- The whole movie will be divided into four parts
- Dad In Memory
- Use actors to recreate my life before 13 years old, it will guide the audience into my life, know what happened on me and then bring out my question "Why did my father leave, and was he disappointed in me before he left."Take the audience to find out the answer together.
- Exploration
- In the form of a documentary (flip the camera, break the fourth dimension and return to reality, through the action of the protagonist lifting the camera, the first half of the plot forgery will be shown to the audience, thus completing the narrative perspective shift from drama to documentary).
- Communicate with my mom first and ask her what she thinks about what I did and what she thinks my dad's reaction will be like (interspersed with some interviews with my mom-about my parents' marriage and how she hid this fact from me when I left home).
- Face The Truth
- I will contact my father and tried to go talk to him about the issue and get the word out (two scenarios: 1. Dad was very supportive and opened up and said what he wanted to say. 2. Dad was unsupportive and stonewalled me)
- Go and document dad's life (work - listen to dad what he's doing, what he does every day), follow up and photograph dad's current family (if I can, interview dad's current son ask him what kind of man his father was in his mind)
- Find a barbecue stand, myself and my father will have a seriously communication about why he left when I was 13. I and the audience together to listen to my father's heart, to find the truth.
- Me After The Truth
- I don't know what will happen when I get the truth, but I'll put all my thoughts in my handbook. Whatever my dad would tell me, I would write a letter to my 13-year-old self. Tell him some of the things I'm thinking right now. And then there's the fact that I believe everything will end up for the best.
I have a handbook of my own with pictures and notes of me and my mom and dad having fun before. But I'll just keep track until I'm 13 because I left home to go away to school after I turned 13. That handbook is a record of all the times I had fun as a kid. There are a lot of photos in it. I will use this handbook as a basis for recreating my previous life for the audience. It's also a way for the audience to get to know me.
