  • The past two months of filming have facilitated better communication with my father and gradually alleviated the tensions between us. Although the process was not as pleasant as I initially anticipated, I can now reflect on that period with a sense of closure. I wish to tell my 13-year-old self, Zhang Haoran, that you should not blame yourself—you are excellent. Through this documentary, I aim to convey to the audience the importance of frequent communication among family members. Many misunderstandings and rifts are often the result of inadequate communication. Therefore, it is crucial to express oneself more to build a harmonious family relationship.
  • Returning to the testing phase, considering the requirements of nonlinear storytelling, I endeavored to capture footage from various angles within the same scene.  This approach not only facilitates seamless temporal transitions during post-production but also prevents audience confusion.  Viewers will understand that the story is occurring at the same time and place, but is being presented more comprehensively through different perspectives.
  • 这两个多月的拍摄让我更好地与父亲进行了沟通，并逐渐缓和了我们之间的关系。虽然过程并不像我一开始想的那样愉快，但至少现在我可以回顾那段往事。我想告诉13岁的张皓然，你不需要责怪自己，你很棒的。通过这部纪录片，我想告诉观众，家人之间一定要多沟通。许多误会和隔阂往往是由于沟通不到位造成的，所以一定要多表达，这样才能构建一个良好的家庭关系。
  • 回到测试阶段，由于需要考虑非线性叙事，我尽量在同一场景内拍摄不同角度的素材。这不仅方便后期剪辑时在相同场景下切换时间的衔接，还能避免观众感到困惑。观众会明白这是同一时间、同一地点发生的故事，只是从不同视角展现得更加全面。

 Reflection:      This film initially accomplishes a combination of personal narrative and documentary. Through testing from perspective transitions, camera angles, colors and narration I found that it was possible to combine two different film styles without compromising the authenticity of the documentary. In my tests I found that the color transitions were one of the most difficult parts. In Oppenheimer, the director switched perspectives by shifting between color and black-and-white. But in my film I couldn't use black-and-white to portray one perspective. The difference in color is not as big as the difference in black and white in the future production, I will add more white mist filter to achieve the difference in the texture of the images.   Concept Plan: My concept revolves around the feeling of regret, particularly the regrets associated with love. The lyrics from the song 'Shepherd of Koktokay' convey the sentiment beautifully: 'No one can sing a song as touching as yours, and there is no other beautiful girl who I will remember so vividly.' The meeting and understanding, yet not being able to stay together, is what brings the most poignant sorrow in love. Therefore, in my film, I will use a combination of reverse chronology and overlaying with gradual fading to depict the regrets within a love story.
